Spellbinders, the valley’s organization of volunteer classroom storytellers, has scheduled its 2012 training sessions. Half-days in Aspen on Sept. 12, 14 and 18; and in Carbondale on Oct. 22, 24, 26. No ongoing commitment is required. Training cost is $50, which includes all materials. Those interested in this or future training can call 970-401-0618.

Curious about Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church he founded? Come and See is a free six-session introductory class starting the third week of October. The exact date and time will be determined by those registered. To register, call St. Stephen Catholic Church at 945-6673.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and the Advocate Safehouse Project needs volunteers to support survivors of domestic and/or sexual violence.
