The ACES annual Harvest Party is an afternoon of seasonal fun from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at Rock Bottom Ranch including a local lunch provided by Crystal River Meats and Whole Foods, beer and wine generously provided by Four Dogs Wines & Spirits, and live music from grammy-nominated band Missed the Boat. The ranch turns into a harvest festival with apple-cider pressing, pumpkin carving, organic garden and farm tours, field games, a silent auction and much more. Cost is $10 per person; free for kids under 12 and ACES members. For info call 970-927-6760. This is a car-free event. Ride your bike, walk, horseback or catch a free shuttle ride to the ranch at El Jebel Park and Ride or Basalt Middle School.

Mountain Family Health Center, at 1905 Blake Ave. Suite 101 in Glenwood Springs, will be offering free breast screenings from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25. Both men and women are encouraged to participate. If you would like to set up an appointment or questions, call 945-2840.
