Pack shoe boxes with gifts such as small toys, personal care items, stickers, school supplies and hard candy to be distributed to children in more than 100 countries who are suffering from natural disaster, war, terrorism, disease, famine or poverty.
In 2011, the Roaring Fork Valley contributed more than 1,000 shoe boxes. This year, hope to collect 1,250 shoe boxes from area families, kids, churches, schools and civic organizations by Sunday, Nov. 18.
Deliver shoe boxes to The Gathering Center at The Orchard, 110 Snowmass Drive, Carbondale at any of these times:
• 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16
• 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, and Thursday, Nov. 15
• 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17
• Noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18
To register shoe box gifts and find out what country they are delivered to, use the EZ Give donation form found at http://www.SamaritansPurse.org.
Ramada Inn of Glenwood Springs is hosting a food and clothing drive for Feed My Sheep through Friday, Nov. 16. Suggested donations include canned soups, chili, tuna, single-serve snacks, candles, used tents, AA and MA batteries, camping gear, gloves, warm socks, boots and coats.

Come shop, sip cider and support local businesses. Approximately 25 local vendors will be available for holiday shopping at the third annual Rifle Holiday Expo from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, at Rifle High School.
