Local glass and mosaic artist Shannon Muse will install a multi-part sculptural piece on the seven columns forming the front porch of the new Carbondale Branch Library. This piece, titled Pillars of Light, will offer community engagement throughout the creation and installation processes and will result in a lasting and accessible piece of public art in a civic location. Shannon’s proposal combines aspects of the library, learning, enlightenment, and community together in a harmonious composition with the architectural design.

Funds are being sought from public and private opportunities to support this project. Contact Amelia Shelley for more information at 625-4270.
