Sunlight Mountain Resort will host the fourth annual Melanoma Awareness Day on Saturday, March 2. All proceeds go to the Melanoma Research Foundation. Dr. Kelly Thomas, a dermatologist who works with Glenwood Medical Associates, will be available in the lodge from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to provide free melanoma screenings. Rocky Mountain Sunscreen will provide free sunscreen samples. Sunlight will match donations of $25 or more to the MRF with a complimentary 2013/14 adult lift ticket. Sunlight will host trivia in the Last-Turn Lounge. There will also be drawings for prizes provided by many local businesses. The grand prize is a season pass to Sunlight for 2013-2014. The drawing will take place at 2 p.m. in the Sunlight Lodge.

Glenwood Springs Kiwanis Club will hold auditions for its annual Stars of Tomorrow contest at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, at Glenwood Springs High School. All students in public or private schools, grades 8-12, may audition, but they must be at least 13 years old by March 6. If auditioners are selected, they must provide a sponsor’s fee of $100 no later than Monday, March 18, at the dress rehearsal. Performance date is Wednesday, March 20.
