Community Concert hosts Czech Republic musicians

As part of a 17-concert Midwestern tour, the Brno Chamber Soloists make their U.S. debut this fall with an appearance in Glenwood Springs.The Glenwood Springs Community Concert Association hosts the chamber orchestra from the Czech Republic at 7 p.m. Sunday in the Glenwood Springs High School auditorium. Admission is by membership ticket only.American-trained pianist Michiko Otaki, of Japan, and cellist Jan Skrdik, a Czech Republic native who teaches at the Janacek Academy in Brno, will perform with the 12-member string ensemble. Otaki heads the keyboard department at Clayton College and State University in Atlanta.Classical in nature, the program will primarily feature compositions by eastern European composers.
