Community Concerts features soprano Karin Paludan

Staff Report

American soprano Karin Paludan will perform her concert, “For Art, For Love,” for Glenwood Springs Community Concert Association members at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, at the Glenwood Springs High School auditorium. Admission is by membership ticket.

The concert will combine story and song to create a personal and rewarding experience between this classical performer and the audience.

Paludan shares her lifelong passion for singing as she informs as well as entertains. She invites her audience inside her mind and heart as she shares her favorite stories, songs and arias from the world of opera, operetta, and musical theater.

Highlights will include works by Puccini, Verdi, Victor Herbert and Cole Porter.

Karin Paludan was an honors graduate with a double major in voice and theater at the University of Kansas and has enjoyed a varied career in opera, operetta, theater and as a recitalist and teacher.

She won district and regional awards in the Metropolitan Opera National Council competition and has been a featured performer with the Utah Festival Opera Company. Two years ago she toured with the New York City Opera National Company, singing the lead role in “Madama Butterfly.”

Information about the concert association is available by calling Judy at 945-7149 or Sue at 963-2428.
