All six branches of the Garfield County Libraries will be closed Monday, Sept. 5, in observance of the Labor Day holiday. The libraries will resume normal hours Tuesday, Sept. 6, at 10 a.m. You can still browse and request books, movies, and more on our website, http://www.gcpld.org, during the closure. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

The Glenwood Springs High School Mock Trial program would like to meet with new students (freshman and any upper class students who have not been in the program) at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, at the Garfield County Courthouse. Meet at the public entrance on Colorado Avenue.

Coaches will explain the program to interested students and family.



There will be a mock trial class which was not on the spring schedule. Students need to sign up for this class on Friday, Aug. 26, at the high school.

Volunteers needed to help Alpine Hospice patients “tell their life story.” Rewarding opportunity to offer support, listen, and be a friend to someone facing end of life issues. Training provided. Volunteer office support positions are also available. Contact Sandy Miller at (970) 210-5912.
