Take a minute to honor your child care provider, the person who provides a nurturing, rich experience for your child. Write a note to Dana Damm at or mail it to her at Garfield County Department of Human Services Childcare Program, 195 W. 14th St., Rifle, CO 81650. This will allow us to honor your provider at our 10th annual Provider Appreciation Brunch on April 25. During this event we honor all Garfield County child care providers from licensed family child care homes and centers for the essential role they play in the lives of our children.

Daniel Sprick paints and draws with a passion for detail that animates his subjects with a spark of transcendent imagination. The latest results of his alchemy will be on display at the Colorado Mountain College Gallery in downtown Glenwood Springs through April 29. A local resident, Sprick is a nationally celebrated artist and part-time Colorado Mountain College instructor whose classically inspired paintings are collected and exhibited by individuals, museums and galleries across the country.Meet the artist at an opening reception April 9 from 6-8 p.m. at the CMC Gallery, 831 Grand Ave. in Glenwood Springs.
