All six branches of the Garfield County Libraries will be closed Monday, May 31, in observance of the Memorial Day holiday. The libraries will resume normal hours Tuesday, June 1, at 10 a.m. You can still browse and request books, movies, and more on our website,, during the closure. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

American Legion Garfield County Post 83 of Glenwood Springs will be holding its annual Memorial Day Celebration on Monday, May 31, at 11 a.m. at the Rosebud Cemetery. There will be a raising and lowering of the U.S. Flag by Scout Troop 225, a laying of wreaths by auxiliary members, a rifle “Salute to the Dead” by legion members, and music tributes from local singers and trumpet players.In preparation of Memorial Day, more than 500 U.S. flags were posted at the individual veterans grave sites.

The Frontier Historical Society Museum is looking for volunteers for the summer season to greet visitors to the museum, take admission and sell items from the gift shop. It’s a fun way to interact with visitors to our community and all training is provided. If you have two and a half hours per week to give, please call us at 945-4448.
