Kids of all ages are invited to join Silt’s Heyday Parade on Saturday, July 31. Decorate your bikes, wagons, and scooters or cars and join in on the fun. The theme this year is “Hats off to Volunteers.” There will be a car show on Aug. 1 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park – come join us and show your favorite car. Parade and Car Show entry forms are available at Silt’s Town Hall, or contact Peggy Swank at 876-5861 and request a form to be e-mailed or mailed to you. For additional information, please contact 876-5801. Booth spaces are still available, and application forms are at Silt Town Hall or call 876-5801.

Attention everyone! Come pig out with The Property Shop “piggies” for YouthZone every Tuesday night now through Aug. 3 at participating restaurants. Come support YouthZone and cast a vote for The Property Shop ladies by eating out at one or all of these generous restaurants where a percentage of the day’s proceeds will be donated to YouthZone. Hospice and Home Care of the Valley will offer its Hospice volunteer training starting Tuesday, July 20. The three-day training will be held at the offices in Basalt. This free 18-hour training takes place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on July 20, 21 and 22. All three days must be attended.If you’ve ever thought you might like to learn more about what hospice does or how you can be involved, please call Sean Jeung at 544-1568 to reserve a seat or for more information.
