The American Legion Post 100 in Carbondale is collecting items for care packages to send to the troops overseas. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. every Wednesday to raise money for the care packages. The 20 year rededication ceremony of the Roaring Fork Valley Veterans Memorial will be held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at the Pitkin County Courthouse. Organizers want to re-enact the dedication of 20 years ago, and ask all veterans who can join the contingent to assemble at the Hickory House at 6 p.m. Please wear military memorabilia.The public is invited to the ceremony starting at 6:30 p.m. at the courthouse. Sunlight Mountain Resort will hold a community meeting at the Glenwood Springs Community Center from 5:30-7:30 p.m. today, Monday, Aug. 6. Discussion will include the new proposed development for Sunlight and possible impacts to the area.

River Valley Ranch is selling seasonal public memberships to the Ranch House beginning Sept. 1, and ending May 23, 2008. Members will have access to the exercise room, any exercise classes, the lap pool, steam room, hot tubs and its seasonal tennis program.
