Meet at the New Castle Community Center from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Aug. 8, for a town cleanup and then cool down with a free ice cream social where you’ll learn ways to reduce home energy use and save money. This event is free and open to the public and is sponsored by the New Castle Climate Action Advisory Commission and the New Castle Environmental Advisory Committee.

The New Castle Branch Library invites you to its second annual Party in the Park. Bring the whole family and celebrate the end of summer on Wednesday, Aug. 12 from 7 – 9 p.m. at Burning Mountain Park in New Castle. This is a free evening of fun featuring the live bluegrass music of The Smuggler Mountain Boys. Ice cream and door prizes will also add to the excitement of the evening.
