Conservation districts honor Gray

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. Post Independent staff reporter Donna Gray was awarded the 2006 Outstanding Public Relations Award from the Colorado Association of Conservation Districts last week. Gray worked closely with South Side, Mount Sopris, Bookcliff and Eagle County conservation districts to publicize the programs and events they offer each year. Gray was recognized for her work on coverage prior to events and stories afterward. Her ability to write about the local issues and work real people into the stories helped her earn the recognition. According to a press release, each time a story runs about the districts, they receive numerous phone calls, requests for information and program applications. Her genuine interest in agriculture and conservation brings the “conservation story” to readers and keeps the name of Bookcliff Conservation District in the news, the press release said.Post Independent, Glenwood Springs Colorado CO
