On Aug. 26, a clerk at a Silt convenience store contacted police after confronting a party who had allegedly struck the clerk’s vehicle and then fled the scene in Rifle some time ago. A disturbance ensued and the suspect left before police could arrive. The responding officer caught up to Daniel Richard Rodreick, 24, of New Castle, in the 1300 block of Main. A computer check confirmed that he was indeed wanted on charges stemming from that accident. Rodreick was arrested and conveyed to the Silt Police Department where he contacted a bondsman to assist him in posting his $5,000 bond. On Aug. 28, a Rifle resident wanted on a Pitkin County felony warrant for check forgery and theft turned herself in to Silt Police on Wednesday. Laura R. Thomas, 31, enlisted the aid of a local bondsman in posting her $7,500 bond and was released pending her new court date.
