On Aug. 1, Glenwood Springs police received a report of a woman receiving a telephone call from her husband after he posted bond on a domestic violence arrest. Dale Alan Sorghardt, 39, of Glenwood Springs also had a court-ordered restraining order against him. Police arrested Sorghardt on suspicion of violation of bail conditions, and a restraining order, reckless driving, criminal attempt and vehicular eluding. On Aug. 1, Glenwood Springs police issued a summons to Mynor Humber Herrera Hernandez, 34, of Rifle for suspicion of petty theft for allegedly shoplifting from Wal-Mart. -On Aug. 1, Glenwood Springs police pulled a vehicle over and ended up arresting the driver on suspicion of drunken driving. His passenger, Brent Scott Howell, 23, of Clifton was also detained for suspicion of drug and drug paraphernalia possession. -Glenwood Springs police were dispatched to Garfield County Jail as an inmate was being released because that inmate, Devin John Sayyae, 19, of Glenwood Springs was wanted on a Glenwood Springs municipal warrant on a charge of failure to appear. On Aug. 2, Glenwood Springs police were notified when Palmiro Lopez-Varela, 30, of Rifle attempted to use a fake resident alien card to garner a Colorado identification card at the Glenwood Springs Mall driver’s license outlet. He was arrested on suspicion of forgery and lodged at the Garfield County Jail. -On Aug. 3, Glenwood Springs police were notified of a domestic assault that allegedly took place on Palmer Avenue. Police reported seeing marks on the female victim after suspect Todd Alan Hurst, 27, of Glenwood Springs fled the scene. He was found by police the next day, arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault and lodged in Garfield County Jail. -On Aug. 4, Agustin Cervantes Lopez, 18, of Glenwood Springs was found sleeping in his car at the 700 block of Grand Avenue. He was cited by Glenwood Springs police for suspicion of underage possession/consumption of alcohol. -On Aug. 4, Melissa Sparkman, 22, of Rifle turned herself in to Glenwood Springs police on a failure to appear warrant. -On Aug. 4, Glenwood Springs police noticed a vehicle parked near Traver Trail and, while conducting a consent search, reportedly found suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia on Jessica Jo Baker, 18 and Brent Marshal Bagen, 18, both of Glenwood Springs. Both were cited on suspicion of possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
