Rifle police were called to Railroad Avenue during the early-morning hours of July 21 for a report of a woman being thrown out a window.When they responded, police reportedly found out that 25-year-old Parachute resident Christopher Hebert had been arguing with his girlfriend for most of the day, assaulted her and refused to let her leave. When she tried to escape out the window, Hebert allegedly pushed her out. Fortunately, the woman landed on an awning and was helped back into the building by a passerby. Hebert was arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault, false imprisonment, domestic violence, wiretapping prohibited, and criminal mischief and lodged in Garfield County Jail. On July 21, Rifle police responded to an East First Street address for a report of a disturbance. When officers arrived, they spoke to a man who claimed that a former family member came to his home, threatened him, then assaulted him. A witness, however, said it was just the opposite and that the man, David Gene Collins, 46, of Rifle assaulted the former family member. He was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct and released from the police department with a court summons. -On July 16, Rifle police arrested Shawn Thomas Gugin, 37, of Rifle for suspicion of domestic violence, two counts of harassment, wiretapping prohibited, criminal mischief, first-degree criminal trespass, domestic violence and reckless endangerment. -Rifle police responded to a report of two men fighting in the street on July 17. When they arrived, they arrested Garry Dean Patton, 44, of Rifle and Hector A. Hernandez, 31, of Rifle for suspicion of assault and battery. -After she allegedly pushed her boyfriend several times on July 17, Rifle police arrested Anne Eileen Herin, 39, of Rifle on suspicion of harassment and domestic violence. -On July 21, Glenwood Springs police arrested Jesus J. Sandoval, 22, of Carbondale on suspicion of drunken driving, DUI per se, no proof of insurance and failure to use a signal. -On July 22, Glenwood Springs police were called by officials at the driver’s license office about a man trying to get an identification card with forged papers. Davis Angeles Mar, 31, of Aspen was arrested on suspicion of criminal possession of a forged instrument.
