Cops release sketch of assault suspect

The Garfield County Sheriff’s Office recently released a composite sketch of a man suspected of assaulting a 19-year-old woman at Harvey Gap on June 25, who subsequently stabbed him. According to the report, the unknown man approached the woman while she was fishing at about 3:30 p.m. and started talking with her. The conversation led to physical advances and an attack, at which point she claims to have stabbed him in the upper arm area with a fishing knife. The woman told deputies that after stabbing the man, both of them fled the area. To this date, no one has made a report to the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office of having been stabbed as described by the woman involved in the incident.The man is described as being a white male with an olive-colored complexion and short dark brown curly hair, 41 to 45 years of age and about 5 feet 7 inches tall. The Garfield County Sheriff’s Office requests the public’s assistance in identifying the man.
