Editor’s note: The following information comes from official police and sheriff’s department incident reports. Arrests merely indicate an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless found guilty in court.

– On April 6, Garfield County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Douglas E. McDow, 47, of Meeker on suspicion of drunken driving and no proof of insurance.

– On April 6, Garfield County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a structure fire in an outbuilding near Carbondale. The cause of the fire was not determined, but the case remains under investigation.

– On April 7, Garfield County Sheriff’s deputies arrested James R. Stout, 43, of DeBeque on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs, failure to stay in a single lane, possession of methamphetamines and possession of paraphernalia.

– On April 8, Garfield County Sheriff’s deputies arrested James A. Julius, 23, of Rifle on suspicion of drunken driving, no proof of insurance, failure to drive in a single lane and prohibited use of weapons.

– On April 6, Rifle police arrested Derek Spaulding, 20, of New Castle on suspicion of drunken driving, illegal left turn, no proof of insurance, minor in possession of alcohol, prohibited use of weapons, driving under the influence of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
