Editor’s note: The following information comes from official police and sheriff’s department incident reports. Arrests merely indicate an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless found guilty in court.

– Rifle police are investigating numerous vehicle thefts within the city and in the surrounding area. In all thefts, the vehicles were unlocked, with keys in the vehicles.

– On May 7, Rifle police pulled over a woman as she drove down Airport Road. Heather Sorensen, 29, of Rifle was arrested on a charge of drunken driving.

– On May 9, Rifle police pulled over a driver whose vehicle had stalled at the intersection of East 3rd Street and Whiteriver Avenue. The driver, Tracy Kopico, 34, of Rifle was arrested on a charge of drunken driving.

– On May 9, Glenwood Springs police received a report of a man throwing things at vehicles and swearing. He reportedly became aggressive toward the officers when he was asked to turn loud music off. Michael E. Francis, 34, of Glenwood Springs was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct, throwing objects and obstructing a police officer.
