Jan. 21Glenwood Springs Police responded to a burglary at 2518 S. Glen Ave. Damage to the building and total theft was approximately $2,747. No suspects at this time.Glenwood Springs Police received a report of a domestic disturbance at 11:23 p.m. in the alley behind 711 Grand Ave. Police arrived on scene and found a female and male that had been involved in a physical altercation. A Glenwood Springs man, Jeremiah Jackson, 21, had been driving a vehicle when Sarah Stokes, 21, allegedly grabbed the wheel, causing the vehicle to crash head-on into a light pole, police reports said. Police noted signs of alcohol intoxication in Jackson and arrested him on suspicion of driving while under restraint, diving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, failure to provide immediate proof of insurance and assault in the third degree. In addition Jackson had a Glenwood Springs warrant for failure to appear. Stokes was arrested on one count of passenger interfered with driver, third degree assault, criminal mischief and on a warrant from an outside agency. Jan 22Glenwood Springs Police responded to a burglary call at 9:30 a.m. at Sopris Elementary School. Officers took a report of an unknown amount of money taken from a school collection bucket. Jan. 23Glenwood Springs were dispatched to 125 Center Drive at 1:05 p.m. in response to an assault. Police arrested Randall Ball, 52, of Glenwood Springs for allegedly entering a victim’s home, threatening and assaulting him. Ball was arrested on suspicion of third degree assault, misdemeanor menacing, and first-degree criminal trespass. Jan. 25Rifle Police were dispatched to a report of a disturbance at 701 Taughenbaugh at 9:45 a.m. Police arrived to find the male party, later identified as Samuel Clayton Phillips, 32, leaving in a vehicle. Police contacted Phillips and found probable cause to arrest him on suspicion of assault, harassment, and domestic violence. Police learned that Phillips is on probation for a prior domestic violence arrest with the same victim. Jan. 26Glenwood Springs Police made a traffic stop at 1:47 a.m. and noticed signs of intoxication on the driver, Mildred Schmalz, 21, of Glenwood Springs.
