Arrests merely indicate that a person has been accused of a crime, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless found guilty in court.n RIFLE, MARCH 2 – Members of the Two Rivers Drug Enforcement Team and Rifle Police searched a residence at 349 S. Ninth St. #6 and seized approximately 23 grams of suspected methamphetamine, which was packaged for distribution and valued at $2,300. Police also seized digital scales, distribution equipment and a large amount of drug paraphernalia, which were easily within reach of children at the residence. Tishe Marie Quintana-Zamora, 25, was charged with possession with intent to distribute meth, possession of meth, unlawful use of meth, child abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia. Sean Herrera, 34, of 333 W. 24th Place #4 in Rifle, was charged with unlawful use of meth. n RIFLE, MARCH 5 – A high-speed encounter with a deer on Interstate 70 was only the beginning of Dennis Fleetwood’s misfortune Sunday. Police responded to a rollover accident on eastbound I-70 at mile marker 91 at about 7 p.m. after a vehicle struck a deer and was forced off the highway. Fleetwood was following the vehicle on his motorcycle, causing him to strike the deer and roll several times. Fleetwood sustained minor physical injuries, but his ego took a bigger hit: Police arrested him and hauled him to jail when they discovered he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. n RIFLE, MARCH 2 – Rifle police contacted Samuel Jerome Bradford at 2618 Shawnee Court because he provided an incorrect address on his sex offender registration. Bradford, 50, was summonsed and released. n GLENWOOD SPRINGS, MARCH 1 – A Petco shopper called police to report that a male was threatening to harm him. Justin Phillip French, 22, of Eagle, was arrested and taken to the Garfield County Jail for harassment. n GLENWOOD SPRINGS, MARCH 1 – When police arrived at the Ramada Inn around 3 a.m., they learned that a male victim had been assaulted. The suspect, who allegedly damaged the room during the alleged assault, returned to the motel and was arrested and taken to jail. Matthew J. Geerts, 34, of Glenwood Springs, was charged with second-degree assault and criminal mischief. n GLENWOOD SPRINGS, MARCH 3 – Police stooped Lorenzo Ruiz-Ruiz on U.S. Highway 6 near the Oasis Bar for driving a vehicle with no tail lights. Police allegedly saw signs of intoxication and arrested Ruiz-Ruiz for DUI and driving on a revoked license. He was taken to jail.
