GLENWOOD SPRINGS, MARCH 25 – In what apparently wasn’t a fight for Scottish independence, William Thomas Wallace III, 33, allegedly was caught in the middle of a fight with the bouncer at the Roxie. Police arrived with pepper spray to control Wallace, who also was throwing punches at spectators. He was subdued, taken to jail and charged with trespassing. GLENWOOD SPRINGS, MARCH 25 – Wendy Lynette Dinkel, 31, of New Castle, allegedly left a 3-year-old girl strapped in an SUV unattended in front of the Roxie; Police charged her with child abuse. Police noticed the SUV parked illegally in a handicapped parking space on Seventh Street. It was reported that vehicle was running and unlocked, and the girl was left alone, crying, in the back seat. Police were soon contacted by the child’s mother, who emerged from a nearby bar, summonsed her for child abuse and issued her a parking ticket. GLENWOOD SPRINGS, MARCH 25 – Neal Anthony Ring, 29, of Glenwood, was arrested for allegedly striking a woman, swiping a telephone from her and preventing her from using it to call the police. Aside from a third-degree assault charge, police nailed Ring with an abuse-of-telephone-service charge. GLENWOOD SPRINGS, MARCH 26 – If you make an unsafe U-turn with your semi in the middle of Grand Avenue at noon, it’s a good bet you might find trouble. That’s what happened when Glenwood Police witnessed Michael Bell making a U-turn with a tractor trailer on Grand Avenue near 13th Street in the middle of oncoming traffic. Police arrested Michael Bell, 43, for making an unsafe turn and driving on a canceled drivers license. Bell also had a warrant out for his arrest in Craig. GLENWOOD SPRINGS, MARCH 26 – Police responded to a melee at about 3:40 p.m. on the corner of Ninth Street and Colorado Avenue. The men were charged with fighting, including Ricardo Jose Polar, 32; Dennis R. Pohl, 52; and John H. Panek, 53.
