The resident was injured and said he wanted to press charges on the offender. The case is under investigation. PARACHUTE, June 10 – A Garfield County Sheriff’s deputy took a report of a possible fraud in Battlement Mesa. The victim had been called by a subject in Jamaica who informed her that she won $2 million. The victim sent the suspect $750 in order to receive her winnings, but she never received the $2 million. RIFLE, June 10 – A Rifle resident found a 2-year-old girl wandering at the intersection of 24th Street and Rail Avenue. Rifle Police learned the child lived about a block away from where the child was found. Rail Avenue resident Christina Marie Whitehead, 26, was charged with child abuse. GLENWOOD SPRINGS, June 10 – Police received a report of an unwanted sexual contact, which occurred on the bike trail near Two Rivers Park. No charges have yet been filed.
