Editor’s note: The following information comes from official police and sheriff’s department incident reports. Arrests merely indicate an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless found guilty in court.

Lost trailer – Someone reported to police that he “lost his trailer somewhere between Amarillo, Texas, and Denver.” No other agency would assist him with the report. The trailer was entered into a law enforcement national database as “lost.”Sexual assault – Police were advised of a sexual assault on a child that occurred at a local residence. They said they have a suspect but that there’s no further information at this time.Harassment – Police were dispatched to Cooper Avenue for a domestic incident. They arrested Phillip Jay Amador, 28, for harassment.DUI – Police observed a traffic infraction and stopped the vehicle. They arrested Brandon James Daniel, 25, for failure to observe a traffic control device and DUI after noticing signs of intoxication.DUI – Police noticed a vehicle pass their marked patrol car at high speed on the right. They stopped the vehicle and arrested James Arthur Ward, 40, for driving without a license, DUI and careless driving.Off-roading – A police officer noticed a vehicle drive off the side of the road. The driver was found to be intoxicated . Police arrested J. Fernando Angeles-Valencia, 25, for driving without a license, DUI, careless driving and failure to provide proof of insurance.DUI – Police observed a vehicle straddling the lanes on Grand Avenue. The driver showed signs of intoxication. They arrested Misti Danielle Sampson, 30, for DUI and failure to drive within a single lane.Concealed weapon – Police contacted an intoxicated male on the Grand Avenue bridge. He was carrying an illegal weapon in his pants. Charles Francis Rosse, 42, was arrested for possessing an illegal weapon and unlawfully carrying a concealed weapon.

Emily Griffith – Sheriff’s deputies were notified of two male juveniles who assaulted staff members at the Emily Griffith Center in Rifle. The juveniles, 11 and 13 years old, were cited and released.Hit and run – Police responded to a hit and run accident. They contacted the suspected driver, Jesse Paul Brown, 27, of Texas and found him to be intoxicated. Several witnesses saw him drive. He was arrested for DUI, careless driving, duty to report accident and compulsory insurance.Violence – Police were dispatched to a domestic incident. They arrested Gary Cunningham on charges of menacing, third-degree assault and domestic violence.Underage consumption – Police found an unresponsive man lying in the street. They cited Jacob Sargent with illegal possession of alcohol by a minor.Domestic violence – Police answered a call of a domestic incident and arrested Lonnie Browning, 42, for pushing his girlfriend.Three warrants – Police answered a disturbance call on Coalmine Avenue. They learned Stephen Lakey Jr., 27, had three felony warrants out for his arrest.
