July 25: DUI – Police responded to a report of a disturbance and contacted a man who was driving away from the scene. They believe Ryan McMichael, 24, of Rifle, was driving under the influence of alcohol and had smashed a window. He was arrested on suspicion of DUI and criminal mischief.July 23: DUI – Police stopped a vehicle suspected of careless driving. They arrested Rashun Allen, 29, of Rifle, on suspicion of DUI and careless driving.July 23: Warrant – Police observed Christopher Fisher, 23, of Rifle, in a bar. They arrested him on an active warrant for assault charges.July 21: Warrants – Police contacted a man suspected of a parking violation. They arrested Anthony Rodriguez, 19, of Rifle, on active arrest warrants.July 20: Fight – Police responded to a report of a fight on the 1700 block of Howard Avenue. They cited a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old and Timothy Trent, 20, with underage possession or consumption of alcohol.July 20: DUI – Police stopped a vehicle suspected of traffic violations. McKennis Duran, Ross celebrate retirement at Highlands downhill Saturday
Oregon’s Laurenne Ross and New Castle’s Alice McKennis Duran both announced their retirement in recent days and celebrated together during Saturday’s downhill. McKennis Duran is a local namesake who grew up skiing at Sunlight in Glenwood and formerly trained with the AVSC.
