Silt police stopped a motorist for speeding Sept. 8 and discovered the man was wanted on a felony warrant in a narcotics case. Officers arrested Benjamin A. Taylor, 56, of Thornton. They also discovered that Taylor allegedly possessed a loaded handgun, a violation of the law for convicted felons. The case remains under investigation.-Francis Grant Minor III, 26, of Basalt, turned himself in to Silt police on Sept. 3 on a Garfield County warrant for failure to appear in court on a driving under restraint charge. He was released on a $1,000 bond.Silt police arrested Eric John Gadzinski, 29, of Silt, on suspicion of domestic violence harassment on Sept. 4 after a woman complained that Gadzinski slapped her over phone calls made to another man. Gadzinski was booked into the Garfield County Jail. He later posted bond and was served with a temporary restraining order to stay away from the woman.-A 17-year-old Silt youth turned himself in to Silt police Sept. 4 on a Garfield County warrant issued for failing to comply with the terms of his sentence on drug charges. He posted a $500 bond and was released to his mother.-Silt police spotted a motorist driving east in the westbound lanes of Main Street on the evening of Sept. 7. Driver Jaime Olivas-Marquez, 32, of Glenwood Springs, was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving, driving in the wrong lane and driving without a valid license, and lodged in the Garfield County jail.
