Correction
A story in the March 22 Post Independent incorrectly reported that Garfield County Sheriff’s deputies used pepper spray in 18 instances of arrests during 2006. Pepper spray was only used three times and there were a total of 18 instances in which the “use of force” was necessary, according to the report cited in the story.The Post Independent regrets the error.
