An article in the Jan. 30 edition about a proposed RFTA bus stop at the new Garfield County Re-2 School District high school contained mistakes too numerous to count, but if you were counting (and some folks were), the total is believed to be four.
The new high school was referred to at various places as Coal Seam, Coal Mesa and Coal Ridge. The correct name is Coal Ridge High School.
The article referred to Re-2 School board member “Sandy” Brands. In reality, her name is Sally Brands.
Finally, the article placed Coal Ridge High School between Silt and Rifle, when as everybody in the west end of Garfield County knows, the correct location is between Silt and New Castle.
The Glenwood Springs Post Independent regrets the errors, but appreciates the Rifle area residents who called and offered to give reporter Lynn Burton a tour of their end of the county.
The last sentence in an article in the Jan. 30 edition about the trap-neuter-release feral cat program at the Rimrock Apartments in Rifle was inadvertently cut off.
The last paragraph reads: “Rifle Police community service officer Lori Kloss agreed.
“Matt (Hilbun, manager of Rimrock Apartments) is trying to do the responsible thing,” Kloss said. “I would hope that more business owners and personal property owners would do the same. Animals are disposable in our culture, and especially cats. Matt’s done his research and he’s trying to handle this colony in an intelligent way.”
