Couple seeks comp plan change

The Garfield County Planning and Zoning Commission will hear a request for a comprehensive plan amendment during its monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 11.The request comes from Roc and Mary Gabossi. The couple is requesting a Garfield County comprehensive plan amendment so they can rezone property north of Highway 6 and adjacent to County Road 138 from A/R/RD to C/L. The comprehensive plan and zoning change would allow commercial development.The other agenda items at Wednesday night’s meeting include:-A sketch plan review for the Queen subdivision, located at 0889 Van Dorn Road outside Glenwood Springs. The application calls for two lots on a four-acre parcel.-A sketch plan review for the Black Diamond Mine subdivision. The property is located on County Road 126 outside Glenwood Springs. The application calls for two lots on nine acres.-A preliminary plan review for the Monument Ridge subdivision. The property is located on County Road 300 and County Road 303 on Battlement Mesa. The application calls for 17 lots on 181 acres.-A preliminary plan review for the Waterstone subdivision. The property is located seven miles northeast of New Castle, off County Road 137. The application calls for five residential lots, each with an accessory dwelling unit, on 24 acres.Wednesday night’s meeting will be held in Room 100 in Garfield County Courthouse Plaza, 108 8th St. in Glenwood Springs.
