An arraignment hearing for convicted sex offender Loy Dean Vondette, 43, of Rifle, in which he was to enter a plea on his latest charges, was continued in the 9th Judicial District Court Thursday afternoon until Oct. 13.

Vondette is charged with multiple counts of attempted second-degree kidnapping and enticement of a child stemming from an incident in Rifle that occurred on July 30, when he allegedly tried to coax two young girls in the Palomino Park subdivision in Rifle into his car. Vondette also allegedly attempted to entice two young girls into his car on June 20 in Apple Tree Park in New Castle. On Aug. 4, he allegedly propositioned a policeman’s wife for sex in Eagle.
