Courts have room for improvement

Eloise Ilgen

Dear Editor,

Our court systems have an awesome power for good; however, some changes must be made.

1. The opportunity for persons to plead guilty shouldn’t be an option. The guilty plea short-circuits the process preventing the judge from hearing the whole truth before making a decision.

2. It is imperative that our systems of health care, education and rehabilitation be connected to produce well-informed, healthy people. Without this connection we have duplications of effort, countless reports and sometimes costly and fatal errors.

Much respect,

Eloise Ilgen
