Craig E. Svendsen

Craig E. Svendsen died Thursday, July 11, 2002 at the E. Dene Moore Memorial Home in Rifle following a lengthy illness. He was 59.

He was born Feb. 5, 1943, in Denver, to Paul Verner and Barbara Ann Carpenter Svendson. He married Linda Goodman on Dec. 1, 1967, at the First United Methodist Church in Golden. The couple lived for many years in Lakewood, where Craig was a jack-of-all-trades and also assisted in the caring of his mother and grandmother prior to their deaths.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Denver. He enjoyed fishing, camping, reading and gold panning. In his free time he could often be found haggling and wheeling and dealing with his friends in the Bonanza Flea Market.

In addition to his wife Linda, he is survived by two daughters, Sheree Allen and Paula Svendsen-Marquez and her husband Joseph, all of Rifle; his two 3-year-old grandchildren, Justin Marquez and Emily Allen; one sister, Phyllis Kittleson of California, and one brother, Clark E. Svendsen of Golden.

His parents and one infant son, Carl Robert, preceded him in death.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, July 19, at the United Methodist Presbyterian Church in Rifle.

Service will conclude at the church.

Meeker Mortuary is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
