Glenwood 19-year-old dies in I-70 crash; two women hurt

Colorado State Patrol |
A 19-year-old Glenwood Springs man died Sunday morning in a head-on collision on Interstate 70 that also sent two women to the hospital with serious injuries.
Driving a 2000 Acura Integra, Edurado Ortiz-Muniz was traveling in the wrong direction on the westbound lane of I-70 just east of New Castle at about 5:20 a.m. when he crashed into a 2015 Toyota Corolla, said Trooper Nate Reid, Colorado State Patrol public information officer.
Ortiz-Muniz was not wearing a seat belt, Reid said, and authorities suspect alcohol and/or other drugs were a factor in the crash.
Garfield County Coroner Robert Glassmire said Monday that Ortiz-Muniz died of multiple injuries, and toxicology tests could take several weeks.
Glassmire said in a news release that his office would like to speak with anyone with information about Ortiz-Muniz’s whereabouts before the accident. Anyone who can help is asked to call the office at 970-665-6335.
Fina Rudianti, 28, Glenwood Springs, drove the Corolla and Yulianingsih Ko, 34, was her passenger. Both were transported to Valley View Hospital with serious injuries.
