Two women ejected in rollover crash

Two women were ejected in a rollover wreck on Interstate 70 near Silt Sunday morning.

Emergency responders got the call at about 10:17 a.m., and both women were transported to Grand River Health in Rifle, one with serious bodily injury.

Colorado State Patrol reported that one woman was 22 years old and the other was 20. No other identifying information about the two women was immediately available.

The vehicle, a 2000 Nissan Maxima, rolled in the middle of the road and came to a rest upside down after the driver had drifted to the left side of the road and overcorrected, according to CSP. A further investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.

They Colorado Department of Transportation closed westbound traffic on the interstate for about an hour to clear the wreckage.
