Crimestoppers: Rulison man busted with 3 pounds of marijuana

A Rulison man was arrested Jan. 6 after Eagle County Sheriff’s deputies found more than 3 pounds of marijuana in his car during a traffic stop.

Danny Burchfield, 52, was stopped at approximately 4:45 p.m. while eastbound on Interstate 70, about 5 miles east of the town of Eagle. Eagle County Sheriff’s K-9 Deputy Best detected a very strong odor of marijuana. More than 3 pounds were found in the vehicle behind the passenger seat in a large white trash bag.

Burchfield was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, and DUI per se.
