On Aug. 21, 2010, Curtis Bjork, 54, of New Castle climbed the mountain high to join his Lord in Heaven.

Curt was born April 4, 1956 to James and Georgia “Peggy” Bjork in Wichita, Kansas.

In 1977, he moved to Colorado and in 1986 he married Melissa Vaughn in Glenwood Springs, together they had two children. Curt lived his life the way so many dream of living; he was a true mountain man who enjoyed fishing, hunting, skiing, camping, diving and trapping, belonging to the Trapper’s Association. He was actively involved in his son’s sports and coached a number of teams. Curt was a talented brick mason, devoted father, husband, brother and Steward of God, worshipping at the Summit Bound Church in Glenwood Springs. He was involved in all the church activities and enjoyed many missionary trips to Mexico where he helped to build new churches.

Curt was always there in times of need and would help friends and neighbors with anything.

Curt was preceded in death by his father James Bjork.

He is survived by his mother Peggy Bjork; brother Craig (Cynthia) Bjork; sons Jeremiah L. Bjork (Cassie and children Jade and Anthony) and Eric O. Bjork and the new love in his life Deb and her loving family.

A Memorial Service will be held at Summit Bound Church in Glenwood Springs, Aug. 25, 2010 at 4 p.m. Officiating is Travis Lowell. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Curtis Bjork Memorial Fund at Summit Bound Church, 1123 Pitkin Avenue, Glenwood Springs, CO 81601.
