Cute little boy with glasses

My story began in the late 1970s when I met this cute little boy with glasses and these big dimples on his cheeks. His name was Shawn Wade. We went to Elementary school in Silt together and I had such a crush on him. He moved away to live with his mom in the ’80s and I kept in touch through his brother and he even wrote me a few letters from New Mexico. Well, of course, life went on. I married, he married, we both had children, and on July 14, 2000, we bumped into each other in Silt at Gofer Foods. I had been mowing my lawn and I ran out of gas and had to run for more. I was absolutely embarrassed because, of course, I still had a crush on him. I thought about how hot and sweaty I was and must have looked like a mad woman. Well, he asked me out and we started dating. About six months later he came to CMC where I was taking EMT classes and he had my daughter with him and they were all dressed up.He got down on one knee in front of the whole class and told me “we’ve known each other most our lives and I want to spend the rest of mine with you.” I of course cried and said yes. He gave me the most beautiful heart shaped solitaire and we were married July 14, 2001, a year to the day of our first date. We are still happy and in love. I thank god every day for bringing us together. I am the luckiest woman in the world to be married to the most loving, caring man I’ve ever known, and to top it off, he’s my best friend. What more could a woman want?
