Cindie Ellis Jones, 71, of Silt lost her courageous battle with lung cancer on Jan. 23, 2012.

Cindie was born July 21, 1940 in Beverly Hills, California, to Russell and Angela Moorman. After graduating high school Cindie made her way to Colorado where she fell in love with the Western Slope. Cindie spent many, many hours volunteering at the Colorado State Veterans Nursing Home in Rifle.

She leaves behind her husband Harley Jones; her daughter Candace (James) Vanderwall, and grandson Ben, all of Littleton, CO; brother Ron (Joyce) Moorman of Phoenix, AZ; and ex-husband John Ellis of Elko, NV.

When I come to the end of the road

And the sun has set for me,

I want no rites in a gloom filled room.

Why cry for a soul that’s free?

When you are lonely and sick of heart

Go to the friends we know

And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds.

Miss me – but let me go.

Cremation has taken place, and per Cindie’s wishes, no services are planned.
