DA, recall candidates set to debate

The Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association will host an issues and answers debate between 9th Judicial District Attorney Colleen Truden, and Martin Beeson and Chip McCrory on Wednesday, Dec. 7, from 6-8 p.m. at Glenwood Springs City Hall Council Chambers.The event is co-sponsored by the Post Independent and affiliate newspapers, KMTS radio, the chamber and Channel 12 public television. The debate will be broadcast live on local access Channel 12.Questions may be submitted from media and from the audience during the debate.KMTS newscaster Ron Millhorn will ask the questions and serve as moderator.The League of Women Voters debate format will be followed as in past chamber debates. “We have a reputation for fairness, and it will not be compromised,” said Marianne Virgili, president and CEO of the chamber.The recall election is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 13.
