Daniel Verl Metheny

Daniel Verl Metheny, 84, of Carbondale, passed away June 6, 2009, at Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs. Verl was born May 24, 1925, in Colorado Springs to Daniel Metheny and Elva Mae (Charles) Metheny.
Verl married Mary Ellen Radebaugh May 10, 1943, in San Diego. Verl was a carpenter, he also served in the United States Navy, he was a dedicated father and grandfather and the ultimate role model.
Verl is survived by his wife Mary E. Metheny, sons Tom Metheny and Bill Metheny, daughter Linda Heisel and sister Agnes McCumber, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents. A private graveside service will be held June 10, at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Carbondale. Family suggests that memorial contributions to be made to Hospice of the Valley and the Rifle Animal Shelter.
