David Alex Riach, 77, of New Castle, passed away Friday, June 1, 2007. He was born May 25, 1930, in Hailey, Idaho, to Alex and Caroline Riach. David served in the U.S. Army.He married Carmen Neuffer in 1954, in New York, later moving to the Roaring Fork Valley, where they lived happily for 30 years. David worked as the fleet supervisor for the city of Glenwood Springs for 13 years, retiring in 1993. He returned to the city and worked seasonally, part time, for several years.David is survived by his wife; sons David Jr. and Michael Riach; one brother; four sisters; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. “Gone riding my four-wheeler and fishing on the Flat Tops” was his favorite saying. Cremation has taken place, and his ashes will be dispersed by the family in a private ceremony.Farnum Holt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
