David Keith Babcock

David Keith Babcock, of Rifle, Colo., died Saturday, June 8, 2002, at his home. He was 50.

Mr. Babcock was born Dec. 10, 1951, in Livermore, Calif., to Betty Vallee and James Babcock.

Mr. Babcock served in the U.S. Army for four years.

He married Sylvia Kelley in 1977.

He enjoyed hunting large and small game and dirt biking, and loved being outdoors and spending time with his family.

He lived in Silt, Colo., and Canon City, Colo., before moving to Rifle seven years ago.

Mr. Babcock is survived by wife Sylvia, of Rifle; sons Jamie Babcock and David Babcock, of Rifle, and by David’s fiancee Gerlyn Senor; daughters and son-in-law Samantha Miyrick, of California, and Danelle and Mike Spangler, of Silt; brother and sister-in-law Bob and Mona Babcock, of California; and eight grandchildren, with one more on the way.

Cremation has taken place.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 14, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Rifle, with Father Robert Hehn officiating.

Rifle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
