Deborah Lee Gowan was born in Aurora, Nebraska Jan. 11, 1955 to parents Rosemarie and John Stephenson. She passed away Oct. 28, 2011 at her daughter’s home in La Marque, Texas after an exhausting battle with cancer.

Deb was an extremely talented quilter. There wasn’t a day that went by that she didn’t do something with fabric! She also loved remodeling homes, painting, decorating, and mowing the lawn.

She is preceded in death by her mother Rosemarie Stephenson; and sisters Jackie Dickes, Nancy Janzen.

Deb is survived by her daughter Stephenie Pena (Scott) of La Marque, Texas; grandson Lincoln Merrit Pena; Father John V. Stephenson; brothers Steve Gray (Becky) of York Nebraska, John Stephenson (Angie) of Grand Junction, Colo.

Memorials may be sent to the Black Hills Quilters Guild. They make quilts for people in hospice, children’s homes, etc. P.O. Box 2495 Rapid City, South Dakota 57709.
