Delbert Eugene Knapp

Delbert Eugene Knapp, 53, passed away Aug. 8, 2008, at the VA Hospital in Denver.

He was born Dec. 12, 1954, in Telluride, to James and Lorraine Knapp.

Delbert served in the U.S. Marines from July 13, 1973, to June 6, 1979, and left with an honorable discharge.



He was a plumber and construction worker.

His hobbies were fishing, hunting and shopping for rocks to build waterfalls.



Survivors include his mother; brother Duane (Vaneta) Knapp of Eckert; sister Debbie (Bryan) Gieck of Rifle; sons James (Susan) Knapp and Jacob Knapp, all of Grand Junction; daughter Katrina (Kelvin) Musanga of Rexburg, Idaho; grandmother Juanita Knapp of Grand Junction; four grandchildren; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father; brother Darryl Knapp; and son John David Knapp.

Graveyard services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15, at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Rifle.
