Delila Elaine Jacobsen

Delila Elaine Jacobsen of Silt died on Thursday, March 21, 2002, at New Castle. She was 87.

She was born March 9, 1915, in Defiance, Iowa, to Rudy and Ella Young Hulsebus. She grew up and graduated from high school in Defiance.

She married C. “Curley” Jacobsen on Dec. 19, 1938, at Defiance. He preceded her in death on Feb. 10, 1980, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Denver.



Mrs. Jacobsen lived in Fort Collins, Loveland and Glenwood Springs.

She was a member of the Mountain View Church and was active in Youth For Christ. She enjoyed family, friends and her church, and loved to go fishing.



She is survived by sons Larry L. Jacobsen of Silt, James J. Jacobsen of Glenwood Springs and Randy G. Jacobsen of Loveland; by a brother, Fred Hulsebus of Fort Collins; by a sister, Una B. Brown of Saginaw, Mich.; and by nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 27, at Mountain View Church in Glenwood Springs with the Rev. Dave Pearson officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to Youth For Christ.

Rifle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
