Developer doesn’t have town’s interests at heart

Alleghany Meadows

Dear Editor,

I am a resident of old-town Carbondale.

When Snowmass Village decided on a developer for the remaking of its base village area, the prospective companies were scrutinized, with a list of past projects and a track record opened to the public view. One was chosen which had successfully completed some of the best projects in the industry.

This is Carbondale’s “base village.” It is huge in scope and will effect the economy and pace and way of life for this town for generations.

Why is the developer so secretive about his past projects? I am not convinced that he has the town’s interests as a priority because the public has not been shown a resume and a record of projects.

I urge a “no” vote on this current proposal.

The land will be developed, but only once. Let us make sure it is done right.

Thank you.
