November is Diabetes Awareness Month, and Grand River Hospital and Medical Center is hosting a diabetes health fair for those diagnosed or at risk for diabetes, from 7-10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Seventh and Birch, Rifle. The event features free screenings including foot, eye, blood glucose and blood pressure checks, and information on diabetes prevention including nutrition and exercise. For a low cost, participants can receive lab work such as A1C, lipid panel, and urine micro-albumin. Annual flu shots are available for $15. Call 625-6200 with questions.
