District Attorney race to be settled today

Glenwood Springs, Colorado CO

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colorado – Election officials said on Monday that they will announce results today for the 9th Judicial District Attorney’s race, which has remained too close to call while hundreds of provisional ballots were uncounted.

Garfield County Clerk Jean Alberico and Pitkin County Clerk Janice Vos Caudill were still finishing up the count of provisional ballots on Monday afternoon.

Rio Blanco County Clerk Nancy Amick said her staff finished counting 77 provisional ballots on Nov. 15, accepting 42 of them and certifying the results to the Colorado Secretary of State’s office.

Amick said that in Rio Blanco County, incumbent DA Martin Beeson outpolled challenger Sherry Caloia by a vote of 2,318-800.
