Doctor’s tip: Meditation beats medication

Meditation can help ease chronic pain, enable people to sleep better and slow down brain aging, per the U.C. Berkeley Wellness Letter.
In addition, Johns Hopkins University examined thousands of meditation studies, finding 47 that met the criteria for well-designed studies. Their findings, published in JAMA Internal Medicine, suggest that mindfulness meditation can help ease anxiety, depression and pain.
